Steve Dettelbach has over two decades of experience as a prosecutor, including serving as the Senate-confirmed US Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio and in the Department of Justice. He worked with federal, state, and local law enforcement, and county prosecutors, on cases involving domestic terrorism, trafficking, hate crimes, extremism, and gun crimes. Dettelbach was charged with prosecuting hate crimes all over the country as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. He helped lead the fight against those who target people of faith as Senate-confirmed United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio. ATF is the key agency enforcing our gun laws, in order to be most effective it needs a Senate confirmed head, which it has not had since 2015. Mr. Dettelbach faces stiff opposition from anti gun sense Senate Republicans.

Call Senator Toomey and tell the staffer who answers that you expect him to vote to confirm Steve Dettelbach who is extremely experienced and well qualified. Let the staffer know that you want criminals trafficking in guns to be held accountable and that ATF needs a confirmed Director to be most effective. And that person should be Mr. Dettelbach. It is fine to leave a message if you get an answering machine. Make sure to leave your name and address so they know you are a constituent. And it is great to make this a DAILY action.
